It's Actually Impressive How Bad MLB Umpires Are At Their Jobs After They Ruled Pete Alonso's Perfectly Fair Go-Ahead Home Run A Foul Ball

Just more of the same with these MLB umpires and their replay review crew. It's mind bottling how many of these clearly obvious calls they get wrong, it seems like it's every single night they are screwing something up. Wednesday's winner, or loser I guess, was Pete Alonso and the Orioles! Pete with a completely obvious fair ball that is literally on the right side of the left field foul pole, that means it's a fair ball. Tough for the umpires to see though, they've got a tough job, I get it. But how in the world is it 2026 and we are sending these sort of calls to a REPLAY REVIEW where their only job is to make sure the call is 100% right and they still butcher it and get it wrong. Saying this call stands because you couldn't tell for sure is a crock of shit. Like Orioles manager Craig Albernaz said, there are ball tracking apps on these iPads in the dugouts, they know what is fair and foul but umpires and the league office doesn't? Insane.

I truly don't know how you can watch that replay and see where the ball is and say "well, we don't know for sure." YES YOU DO, IT'S RIGHT THERE! Michael Kay and David Cone were on air preparing for it to be a 1-run Orioles lead thanks to Pete, that should tell you the ball was fair. But nope, somehow every single soul in Camden Yards knew the ball was fair, but the braindead crumb bums in the replay review room said it wasn't.....even with clear evidence.

So instead of a 4-3 Orioles lead going into the 8th, it's still tied and obviously the Yankees would go ahead in the 8th because that is how baseball works in Baltimore. We don't know how the 8th would go if the O's had a lead, maybe they throw a different pitcher, they'd attack differently. But that call changed the game, even if you have pinstripes running through your blood you know it changed the game. Hell, the Yankee Cuck himself said it was a terrible call and knows it should have been overturned, that was how obvious it was!

He also brings up the point that folks in baseball have been talking about all season, we now have this eagle eye ABS that can tell you if a pitch misses the strike zone by .000000000004 inches but we can't see that a ball is inside the fucking foul pole? In what world does that make any sense? Tennis has it down to a science, FIFA can tell us if a hair touches a ball, NFL has chips in the ball, but baseball just relies on the eyesight of guys born in the 1960s. These guys shouldn't be allowed to drive, let alone have their eyesight determine games. It's a joke and a half.

Thank god we have umpires address this kind of stuff after a game too, always nice to get an explanation from them. We did get some PR bullshit from the cucks in the replay review center though….

Billion cameras in the ballpark, everyone (including the away broadcast team) knows it's fair and somehow these idiots can't make the right call. Unreal. This kind of stuff continues to be a black eye for MLB. You HAVE to get calls right, HAVE to. It's happening all over the league and it's obvious that these umpires are fighting back against the ABS system and replay reviews, they refuse to admit their mistakes and be held accountable. How are there not cameras that show EVERYTHING, how are there not lasers on the foul poles, how is a league so incompetent when it comes to stuff like this? It may sound like sour grapes, especially coming from me, but it's kind of insane that stuff like this is still happening in the game of baseball in our lords year of 2026 while we have so many other leagues who simply get it right.

PS. Thank GOD we got it right in the home run derby, would hate for them to screw that up!
