The Eagles Have Officially Won The Joint Practice Against AJ Brown and the New England Patriots
AJ Brown has already made it abundantly clear he doesn't give a shit about Super Bowls. It was just a few days after the Eagles won Super Bowl LIX against Kansas City when he said that winning games isn't what fuels him. All he cares about is personal success, and winning his individual matchups. Weird thing to put out there after winning the biggest game in football, but that's AJ Brown for you. Weirdly selfish.
So naturally today was going to be a massive day for him. He spent the better part of the last 2 seasons working his way out of Philadelphia. Some kids grow up dreaming about becoming a Super Bowl Champion, and other kids grow up dreaming about one day getting traded from the Philadelphia Eagles. AJ Brown's dream came true this summer when he was dealt to New England, and now he had a chance to practice against his former team today. A chance for the most selfish man in football to really stick it to his former team.
Turns out it was just a great chance for him to get locked up by Quinyon Mitchell.
AJ Brown thought he wasn't getting the ball before because the Eagles ran a bullshit offense, and Jalen Hurts couldn't get him the ball. If that's the version he wants to tell himself in his own mind, then go for it. But now he's not going to get the ball anymore because he can't get an inch of separation from Quinyon Mitchell. And there's no simple solution to that.
Even when AJ Brown managed to make a pretty decent catch today (against Riq Woolen), this ball would have never left Drake Maye's hands if it were an actual game.
At the end of the day, the Eagles still lost AJ Brown from their roster. He's still a really solid receiver, and that leaves a hole in their lineup. But here comes Dontayvion Wicks with a big ol' bottle of Flex Seal to fill that hole right up.

Did somebody order a receiver who can create separation? Thank you very much, I'll have another.
I've seen enough. The Eagles locked up AJ Brown and they've already found his successor with Wicks. You can hang the banner now. The Philadelphia Eagles are your August 19th 2026 joint practice against the New England Patriots champions. It was a must-win practice, and they got the job done.
