The College Dream: LaNorris Sellers Isn't Taking Any Classes This Semester At South Carolina, Just Doing An Internship At A Driving Range Instead

[Source] - The starting quarterback had no such issue. In fact, LaNorris Sellers doesn't have any classes this semester. His only school commitment outside of football this semester is an internship at The Par Tee Golf Center in West Columbia.

"Just facility management and stuff like that, cutting grass and picking up balls like that," he said.

The senior sport and entertainment major from Florence, S.C. will graduate in December once he's finished with the internship. Sellers, of course, wants to have a long, successful career in the NFL, but he's already thought about life after football, too.

I know this isn't abnormal, especially in the college sports world. But, this specifically? Yeah, this is the dream. You get to be QB1 at an SEC school, hope to make the NFL and your last semester you're only playing football and working at a driving range. I thought being able to take coaching basketball and managing baseball as two classes my senior year was the dream and living life good, just being able to work at the driving range? Sign me up for that. And yeah, there's no comparison between me as an idiot 21-year old senior vs LaNorris Sellers as a starting quarterback, we're talking in generalities here.

Thinking about being able to intern at a golf range and your backup plan to the NFL being working on management an architecture seems like a decent idea.

Now, I'm old. Many of you reading this are also probably old and sitting in an office somewhere. If you happen to be younger, there are few moments better in your school life then when you master the ability to manipulate your college schedule. By that I mean you do all the research, you find a way to not have Friday classes. You load up in the middle of the day as much as possible, keep nights open and early mornings open. By senior year if you play it right, get your credits right, you can knock out classes from 10-2 and that's it. The rest of the time is to have a time. You get 4 years and you ain't go there to play school - unless you're a doctor or an engineer or something that directly impacts my life. Then play school please.

So shout out LaNorris Sellers. Gets to drive around in the driving range cart, hang out get some swings in and then go play football. Forget college, this is just the American dream at its finest right here.
