This POV Shot From Jalen Hurts' Helmet At Eagles Training Camp Is A Great Reminder That Nobody Sitting On Their Couch Knows What It's Like To Play QB In The NFL
There's not a profession on planet Earth that gets as ruthlessly criticized by under-qualified dipshits quite like an NFL quarterback. Every single Sunday there are millions of Americans sitting on their couch watching their favorite team play football. The moment their quarterback makes one bad play, you can hear "what the fuck was he thinking" ringing out in unison all across the city.
"He holds on to the ball for too long!"
"He didn't even see ______ down there wide open"
"He can't even read a defense"
These guys are all the best of the best. And unfortunately because they are so good, they've ended up making the quarterback position look too easy. You watch it on TV and it looks simple enough. You get good protection, you go through your reads, you make a play.
And then you watch a video like this one the Eagles put out from training camp today and you quickly realize....holy shit, how do these guys do it? There's all the chaos going on right in front of you and yet somehow, you're still supposed to be able to piece together all the moving parts downfield and put the ball in the exact right spot at the exact right time. You watch that video and it's impossible to see how anybody is open at all.
This needs to be the camera angle the broadcast uses after every incompletion or interception. It's so easy just watching from the TV and seeing what a quarterback should have done. Show this angle and everyone can shut the hell up for a minute, and realize it's damn near impossible to see what is going on out there. Maybe just pipe down, grab another scoop of buffalo chicken dip, and hold off on sending death threats to the quarterback's DMs because he just cost you 2 points in fantasy.
