We Had a Terrible Running From Cops Effort in Oklahoma City – Driver Flees Traffic Stop and Is Immediately T-Boned at Intersection

That's the police chase of the week for me. It was between this one, and a police chase in Arkansas where a cop pulled a pit maneuver on a guy at 100 MPH and sent him flying into some innocent people on the side of the road. But that one seemed a little dark (serious injuries, innocent people, bad decision by cop, etc).

This police chase in Oklahoma City was a little more... whimsical. And by that I mean the police report says only the fleeing driver suffered minor injuries. Which is a minor miracle considering how hard that grey car got JACKED UP! across the middle. There was at least one kid in that vehicle too, as seen from the alternate angle in this article. They really just hopped out of that car like they had pulled into the parking lot for Sunday church.

RIP, however, to the poor innocent white sedan who was minding its own business in the driveway, and wiped off the face of the earth.

No information about the suspect has been released yet other than he was arrested on 4 felony complaints and booked into the Oklahoma County Jail, but what an all-time terrible effort by that guy. Hecommitted to the chase. He had a drone on his ass. He was presumably in it for the long haul. He had a cool vintage car with a racing stripe down the middle and everything. He should have at least got a thrilling 30 minutes out of the ill-advised endeavor. But he barely made it a block. I don't even think there was a cop car on him.

I have half a mind to think this rookie has never flown a scene before. Or has ever turned on the news for a live police chase. Going into a police chase without ever studying film is crazy. Anybody who's watched a live police chase knows it's a marathon not a sprint. It's all about finding a parking garage, or somewhere you can ditch the car without the helicopter/drone being able to see you. The only thing you can't do is crash. What a dumb ass.

Don't run from cops. Even if you're in a car that makes you feel like Bo Duke. Running from the cops is a whole different ball game in 2026. The Dukes of Hazzard didn't have drones to deal with.
