Caitlin Clark Got Left Off The Promotional Graphic But Still Set A WNBA Record AGAIN With 29/10 Against Paige Bueckers, Further Proving She's The Face AND The MVP Of The League Right Now
Did you know Caitlin Clark played a basketball game last night? Amazingly even if you were following the "official" ION WNBA account, you would NOT have known she was actively playing. Certainly an interesting choice to slap Lexie Hull on there instead of CC. Jealousy is a stinky perfume indeed.
Because they could've showed off that four recent #1 overall picks were facing off instead. Including 2 players who have a deep seated rivalry that runs back before college. Seems like a showdown you'd want to earnestly promote in an effort to lure in new fans? Especially considering Lexie played all of 12 minutes with a scorching hot 0 point, 0 assist, 3 rebound performance. Hope that social media specialist is proud of themselves right now.

Good job, GOOD effort ION! And although it was clearly done to farm ragebait engagement… it still simply makes no fucking sense to do at this point in the season. Caitlin has been getting attacked literally, metaphorically, spiritually, essentially any & every way possible all summer long. NO support from WNBA leadership, NO protection from the players association, NO help from her peers or even most of her teammates. Outside of Sophie Cunningham, I haven't seen any of them defend her on the court or in the media.
Hell even her supposed running mate Aliyah Boston won't put her in the conversation for MVP?! What the fuck is going on out here girls. Are we watching the same games? Do numbers now lie? Jesus H. Christ.

Look Kelsey Mitchell is no slouch but she's not the engine of that offense. Take a peek at her shooting percentages & scoring averages before/after CC arrived to run the show. And check out some of these numbers getting put up on a nightly/weekly/monthly basis by her. So long as Caitlin isn't injured via illegal assault, all she does is produce on a generational level out there. Repeatedly.

And as far as Paige being a better MVP candidate than her… Well let's have the tape from last night do the talking there. She was getting her ass repeatedly faded into Bolivian.

Oh and FYI the Wings are (3-7) in their last 10 while barely holding onto the last playoff spot and the Fever are (8-2) in the 4 seed with homecourt. Wonder who's really "most valuable" in that case? Maybe I'm just not familiar enough with the league and The W actually prefers to give out participation trophies and reward 2nd place efforts above all to keep things copacetic.
Sidenote, also think it's pretty weird Olivia Miles is getting all this MVP talk when the Lynx were literally the 1 seed last season & still have a stacked roster. Stinky vibes from her too.
This blog has gone on far too long but I'll close out with a little gratitude to even out all this negativity. Because despite all the drama, petty jealously, and braindead actions by WNBA leadership, there's still one thing they are doing correctly.
