Adam Driver And Inde Navarrette Are Officially Joining The X-Men (Among Other Confirmed Castings)

ICYMI, D23 is going on right now and the Marvel panel just confirmed some reported castings. And I think their choices are pretty damn great. So far, we have confirmed Chris Abbot as Professor X, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Maya Boyd as Storm and Adam Driver as Mr. Sinister. 

For Abbot, if you're not familiar with his work, he is one of the most underrated actors working in my opinion. He gives a killer performance in every movie I've seen him in (A Most Violent Year, It Comes at Night, Black Bear, Possessor, Poor Things) but has been on a kind of shaky run lately (Wolf Man, Kraven the Hunter). He's not he actor that immediately springs to mind as Professor X, but I have no doubt he can be great in the role. 

For Samara Weaving. Yea, that's another home run. Emma Frost going from January Jones to her is like the Colts going from Manning to Luck. Beautiful stuff. 

Maya Boyd is a complete unknown to me as they cast her off broadway. 

And for Inde Navarrette, this is a very, very smart move from Disney. She is the hottest new name in movies right now with a TON of goodwill among gen z filmgoers. Snatching her up for a multi picture deal before any other franchise can get her is wise work. On top of that, she's also a great actress! 

Kit Connor is more of a wait and see for me. I don't have a ton of experience with him as an actor but, at the same time, Cyclops has been a pretty wooden character across all his live action iterations. Connor can really only go up from here. 

And Adam Driver? One of our best working actors? He will get a sign off from me on literally anything. I only have a baseline knowledge of Mr. Sinister, but getting the chance to play a REAL bad guy instead of a halfassed one (Star Wars) is a blessing.
