Nostalgia At Its Finest - New Found Glory Had Everyone Spending The Last Three Days Talking About How 'American Pie 2' Is Still A Perfect Movie

I know people like to bitch about the Internet and Twitter and all that. But this is an old school Twitter moment, which is fitting because it's nostalgia at its finest. Three days ago New Found Glory tweeted out that clip and caption. Pretty simple, a 25-year anniversary with their song playing. But it became so much more than that. It's been 72 hours of people talking about how American Pie 2 is one of the greatest sequels ever. You won't hear an argument from me against that, I think it might be the best sequel ever. 

Not only that, but it's a perfect soundtrack. Songs like Phoebe Cates (Fenix*TX), Every Time I Look For You (Blink-182), Bring You Down (Left Front Tire), Vertigo (American Hi-Fi) and even Be Like That by 3 Doors Down. It summed up the era better than anything else and looking back on it should make everyone realize how great we had it. KFC sums it up here pretty good: 

Take away the feeling of it all and think about just how much better the movies were. 

It's true for any of us that are pushing 40 or just over 40. We can now sit here and think back to this exact time. We can think back to living through this sort of stuff, outside of you know, gluing yourself to yourself and having your dad take you to get your dick fixed. Can't relate to that. But that's what makes the movie better than any other sequel.

I love it. I know we talk about nostalgia and it can get old. That's not true when it comes to movies. That's not true when it's a 25-year anniversary and all people can talk about is how it's still good in 2026. There's going to come a moment in my life when I get to pass down this movie to my kids. It's our generation of what we should be showing. So shout out New Found Glory for making everyone spend three days talking about American Pie 2. GOAT sequel.
