The QB Battle That Dominated This Country Is Finally Over - Kyler Murray Is QB1 For The Vikings, JJ McCarthy Back To The Bench

And there it is. It was only a matter of time and we were wondering when Kevin O'Connell would name a starter 

That wasn't even 2 weeks ago! But now it's done. It was one of the weirder battles I can remember, because you'd get reports from the Vikings beat writers talking about who won the day and basically it got to the point where both stunk. Still might be true. But it didn't seem like there was one guy just taking over and solidifying the number 1 spot. But now it is. Kyler Murray is Vikings QB1 and JJ McCarthy, the guy they used a top-10 pick on and let Sam Darnold move on is a backup. Actually, it might just be over in Minnesota for him. How do you bring him back after losing a QB battle like this? 

Oh, and, yeah, this is true: 

Kyler will fall apart at some point, that's how his career goes. He looks awesome for a stretch of games and then it goes to hell. But in those games he looks awesome we're getting vintage Justin Jefferson, which is weird to say because he's still young and his prime. But it felt wrong having Justin Jefferson be a guy fighting for 1,000 yards last year and basically forgotten about because of bad quarterback play. 

All I know is this QB battle dominated this company

So back to the bench, JJ and welcome to QB1 status Kyler. Now we get fans of each person freaking the fuck out during the first possession of the first game and that's really what the NFL is about. If you're not overreacting to a decision then you're simply too calm to be an NFL fan.
