Do you want to be a hero? Do you want to be remembered forever? Do you want your legacy to be one of the all-time legends in sports? We're not just talking about basketball here, but sports in general.

If that is what LeBron James envisions for himself when it comes to his chapter in the history books, then he knew he only had one option during this free agency. He couldn't go back to Cleveland or Miami. Those stories are done and over with. Reboots suck. Just ask him about Space Jam 2. No no no. LeBron knew that the only way to go down as the undisputed GOAT is to come to the city of Philadelphia, and finally get the Sixers over the hump to win a championship.

And by god did he make the right choice today.

It was a long and drawn out process, sure. 3 weeks of a will he, won't he. But holy shit was the wait worth it now.

Joel Embiid. Tyrese Maxey. VJ Edgecombe. Jaylen Brown. And now it's all capped off with the King himself.

Say what you want about LeBron, but the man is a winner. He has won a championship with every organization he's played with so far in the NBA. And out of all the teams he's been a part of, you can't say a single one of them has more depth than this Sixers team he's about to join. Even in Miami when he was with Wade and Bosh. He's coming to a team now that has an MVP, a Finals MVP, one of the biggest rising young stars in the game with Tyrese Maxey, and a kid who seems as hungry as anybody to compete in VJ Edgecombe.

This is what it's been about since the very beginning. The goal was always to load this roster up with as much talent as possible. Ben Simmons, Markelle Fultz, Jimmy Butler, Tobias Harris, James Harden, Paul George. So many iterations of this team have come and gone, and it has all led to this moment right here. When LeBron James has a chance to end his career with any team in basketball, and his choice is the Philadelphia 76ers.

Great schools in the area for his daughter to attend. World class golf courses to play when he's not on the court. A fanbase that is rabid, and now going to be completely out of control. Philly might not have the weather or the nightlife that places like LA and Miami offer. But this just proves that if you're thinking about the whole package, there's no place quite like the city of Philadelphia.
