The Phillies May Have Had the Worst All-Star Week Performance of Any Team in MLB History
What a showing from the Philadelphia Phillies in front of the home crowd at the 2026 MLB All-Star Game. A combined 0-5 from Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper and Brandon Marsh, a three-run first inning from Christopher Sanchez and Schwarber's valiant effort in the Home Run Derby getting erased by an absolute dingermogging from Jordan Walker.
Brutal.
Look, I hate the Phillies as much as the next guy, but this just can't be the performance from the home team in an All-Star Game celebrating our national pastime during the semiquincentennial anniversary of the greatest country to ever exist. Baseball needed more from these guys. Our nation needed more.
I hope this is a sign of things to come in the second half of the season, because the Phillies have admittedly been winning far too often over the last couple months. Give me All-Star Game Sanchez down the stretch and let's have the Atlanta Braves reclaim their birthright atop the NL East.
