Fair or Foul? Was It Okay For Brewer Jacob Misiorowski To Be Rooting Hard for Phillie Kyle Schwarber In The Home Run Derby Finals?
Let's fast forward to October.
And not just this October, but the next few Octobers, where the Phillies and Brewers could meet in the playoffs. Shit, maybe even an NLCS.
If Jacob Misiorowski gives up a home run to Kyle Schwarber, will Phillies' fans be rushing to their phones to repost this video the second it happens?
Yes.
Will they probably post it anytime Schawarber takes Misiorowski deep?
Also, yes,
Should that have stopped the Brewers' Ace from enjoying himself at the Home Run Derby Monday night and cheering for the hometown slugger to take down the Derby?
That's a no from me.
For Meek Phil, the producing co-host of Sports Central, it was an issue. Meek pointed out that the post showed a lack of self-awareness on the part of one of the best pitchers in the National League. After all, he was giving the trolls out there potential fuel for the playoffs
Plenty of fans seemed to agree with Meek on this. I don't.
1. It's a one-off, exhibition event. I think it's cool that the players seemed to have fun even watching this. In a world where people hate EVERYTHING, he seemed to be enjoying the moment. Good for him.
2. Did you see the way that sick bell chain actually rings when you shake it? That's hot as hell. Good job, MLB...how do I get one? Take my money!
The bell is so cool that maybe Misiorowski blacked out for a second and forgot what he was saying or where he was.
This came up today on S-P-O-R-T-S SPORTS SPORTS SPORTS Central. As a show, it was hard to back Meek on his take.
I might be right there with Meek if, say, a Red Sox player was on video rooting for a Yankees slugger in the Derby. That would not go over well. But the Brewers and Phils are rivals, only in the sense that they're in the same League.

The Pirates got in the act, too, celebrating a division rival with this post. This might actually be worse? Like, I'd be annoyed if the Sox did this for someone in the AL East.
As for Miz, the guy got caught up in the moment. Let the man have some fun, Meek.
