REPORT: The Sixers Have Reached Out To LeBron James, As If The Trade For Jaylen Brown Wasn't Exciting Enough

Holy shit. Somebody pinch me. I can't believe this is real life.

After coming back from being down 3-1 to beat the Celtics in the playoffs, the Sixers continued to make Boston look silly by taking arguably their best player off of their hands in truly one of the most lopsided trades I've ever seen. I mean seriously, how the hell did we get a former Finals MVP who's STILL IN HIS PRIME for Paul fucking George and a few draft picks? The move has stunned the entire sports world. I'm still flabbergasted by it.

Pair that with the Dean Wade signing yesterday, and you have a starting five in Philly that is automatically up there for one of the best in the league. Outside of Wade (who's a great stretch-four and a REALLY versatile defender), you're talking about two players in Brown and Maxey who were both Top 5 in scoring last year, a rising star in VJ Edgecombe, and a former league MVP who just dropped 34, 12, and 6 in a Game 7 on the road. That's just nasty.

HOWEVER, it might get even nastier, because reports indicate that the Sixers have expressed interest in none other than LeBron James. And if they were to pull this off -- if they were to land The King -- it would go down as one of the craziest overall roster shakeups in NBA history.

NOBODY expected Jaylen Brown to be traded to the Sixers. In fact, Philly was the least likely team to wind up with him, according to the DK odds. And then with the LeBron component, the Sixers haven't been brought up as a potential destination AT ALL this offseason. But everything has been flipped on its head in the past 6 hours.

All I'll say is that Mike Gansey is a fucking madman. He's the Sixers' new president of basketball operations, and it seems like in the past week alone, he's already trying to do more to win than Daryl Morey ever did in his six years on the job. He's been on an absolute heater since getting the role a month ago.

But perhaps what's more important is the fact that Gansey was previously the general manager in Cleveland. He was also the assistant general manager there when LeBron was in his second stint with the Cavs. So ya gotta think that they already have a decent relationship…

Not to mention, this pic of Gansey and LeBron next to each other when they were both in high school has started to circulate (look at the far right). And boy oh boy, it has me itching to buy a Sixers LeBron jersey IMMEDIATELY. There might be a real legitimate path here, folks. We haven't even talked about all the prestigious golf courses in the greater Philadelphia area.

Besides, didn't LeBron say money wasn't gonna be a factor? That he would take a minimum to play for a contender? That he wanted to go to a team with people who could take the scoring load off of him? The Sixers definitely check a lotttttt of boxes.

So watch out, world. Philly just became a major player in the LeBron sweepstakes. And as a raging Bronsexual myself, I simply have no idea how to handle it.

PLEASE! PLEASE LEBRON! COME PLAY FOR THE SIXERS! I BEG YOU!
