A Masked Couple Climbed To The Top Of The Empire State Building Antenna, Hung A Peace Sign, Then Got Engaged
Well done guys. And well done Fox News camera guy. Whatever happens to this masked couple from here, at least they got a remarkably bad ass video of themselves at the tippy top of the most iconic building in New York City. That's worth something.
My only criticism, which isn't even really a criticism, because all things considered it makes the picture look cooler... that's a bit of an ominous looking flag for a message of peace.
At first look, before you see what the flag says, you might think ISIS had overtaken the Empire State Building. That they thought New York City went by moon rules, and if they planted the highest flag it means the city is theirs.
Holy shit. I'm writing this blog as the whole thing is unfolding. It looks like the pair just got engaged.
I mean, c'mon on. That's pretty sick. I sure as hell beats a walk in Central Park. Unless these two are about to unleash something terrible on the city… in which case I will be re-writing this blog… then that's awesome. Getting engaged on the antenna of the Empire State Building? Overlooking all of New York City? Engagements don't get much more extreme than that.
They will of course be spending the start of their engagement in jail. Probably. I suppose that part isn't ideal. Unless of course the fall off the antenna, and spend the start of their engagement dead. But if they were able to get up there, I gotta think they're experienced enough climbers to get down.
Good for them. That's cool. I can't disagree with the message. They don't seem to be endangering anybody but themselves. I suppose they're inconveniencing the tourists visiting the Empire State Building who may have had their tours put on pause for bit. I don't care too much about them. I suppose I'm obligated to mention how they're wasting the cop's time. But it's New York City. Crazy shit like this is par for the course for NYPD. Have a nice marriage you rascals.
UPDATE – I'm watching the live feed now. It appears the could has safely climbed down and are on their way to jail. End of story.
