The Entire Stadium Serenading The USMNT With 'Country Roads' After Beating Australia Was Simply Awesome And Should Be The New Tradition
Fuck yeah, man. I meant to blog this yesterday but got a little caught up celebrating the win. I love everything about this. Do I typically think Country Roads can be overplayed? Sure, have some friends who go to WVU and you'll agree too. But, this? This is the new tradition that US Soccer should have. No more I believe that we will win shit. No more just spelling while chanting. Singing Country Roads like this after a win? Sign me up at all times for it. It's something that everyone knows, the whole stadium belting it out is perfect. I know it's already catching on across the country, I heard multiple places play it right after this ended yesterday.
This is what I'll remember the most from this World Cup so far. This is the moment where it feels like all of the country is now invested in this team. You have the song, you have the wins, you have everyone's attention. You have to capitalize on it with a run in the knockout round. You have a song. Now start changing some songs into chants for the game and we're cooking with gas. But this? This is awesome. This is the feeling we should have when winning a World Cup game.
Hit the music.
