The Summer Of Knicks Kicked Off With Mike Brown Getting A Standing Ovation At A Restaurant Before Dinner Along With Some "Who Let The Dogs Out" Chants

Welcome to the rest of your life Mike Brown! As a fan of the Mets and Knicks, I can tell you firsthand just how much it sucks to lose in New York. The media can be a nightmare, the fans can be obnoxious, and the overall stress of it is not worth whatever bump in money you might've gotten for performing in a big market.

HOWEVAH, as a fan of the Giants, I can tell you firsthand how incredible your life can be if you win in New York. I saw Tom Coughlin, Eli Manning, and countless members of Big Blue deal with all the bullshit that comes with losing not winning it all in New York before being able to cash in on all the awesomeness that comes with winning a championship in New York. Now they are all legends in the capital of the planet that can not only go to whatever fancy restaurant they want but get a standing ovation from all the rich folks that are at said restaurant in a city where people are commonly ignored no matter their level of fame. I imagine the same goes for whatever club, sporting event, or super secret coastal elitist shit my peasant brain can't even dream up. I mean look what it was like to have a chance to get a glimpse at KAT at Dick's Sporting Goods yesterday.

In addition to all that, the financial perks of being a person that brought the city's one true team a championship for the first time in more than 50 years is through the roof. The 86 Mets have been eating off their title for damn near 40 years despite the other baseball team in town being the greatest franchise in North American history. Everything the Knicks just did is a 10x multiplier of that, which will no doubt lead to countless videos and stories like the one above. Multiple people may be going on a run like Shirtless JR Smith did after the Cavs won the title to become icons in Cleveland. Funny enough, I think Mike Brown is currently a darkhorse favorite to be the Knicks' version of JR behind Jose Alvarado, Ariel Hukporti, and Tyler Kolek (Mikal Bridges has been on a bender but he's almost too smooth to be a JR).

Hopefully awesome players, coaches, and GMs in other sports see how much winning in New York can improve your life and try to follow suit. Yes, this is me trying to convince myself that Steve Cohen is going to become inspired by this run to either give Theo Epstein a piece of the Mets to win a title or hire Leon Rose to try to save another orange and blue New York team from sports misery. But I stand by everything I said, which we talked about in depth along with all things Knicks on today's We Gotta Believe.
