I'm Afraid Algerian Fans Might Set Kansas City on Fire (And Beat The Pulp Out of More Argentinians)

It's been perfectly wholesome to see so many different cultures come together across North America. Fans from all over the world are celebrating and having fun together, even though their countries will be facing each other in the most important game of their lives in a matter of days. It's great to see. Mutual respect, sportsmanship, all that lovey dovey shit.

But it's high time we see a little bit of bad blood. It's high time we see a bit of fire. Soccer is "the beautiful game", but it's not always kumbaya between opposing fans. Some of the nastiest, craziest, scariest fan incidents in the world have happened at soccer matches. As the World Cup goes on, and the games become more important, and fans start to face the possibility of elimination, we'll almost surely see a little more animosity between opposing fans.

And shoutout to the Algerians for getting things started by pre-gaming with fire in Kansas City. Those are the types of flames/fireworks I only associate with soccer fans. Soccer fans who I'm a little bit scared of.

The type of soccer fans who fill fist fight you in Times Square for wearing the wrong colored jersey.

It's not much, but it's only a matter of time before some fans gets bored of loving thy neighbor, and holding hands across America. That might be the first fan fight we've seen, but it certainly won't be the last. Just wait until the final game of group play. Just wait until the knockout round. Let see how friendly we all are to each other then.
