Travis Scott Showed Up 2 Hours Late For His Performance In Monaco Last Night, and Kicked John Summit Off

For those who are unaware, and wondering “who the fuck is Travis Scott?”, allow me to refresh your memory. 

He hit the scene as a solo artist back in 2013, signing to Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music label, (being stuck producing for and living in Kanye’s shadow for a couple years) and then breaking out with his own solo hit “Antidote” in 2015.

He somehow convinced Kylie Jenner to have two kids with him, started his own massive sneaker line with Nike, did a big time collab with McDonald’s, and oh yah, threw a satanic ritual disguised as a music festival in which ten people were trampled to death while the (eery) low frequency music never stopped.

Good times.

Well, good guy Travis Scott made headlines again this morning, when, in the wee-hours over in Monaco- site of this weekend’s F1 Grand Prix, 

You might have seen already, but there were a ton of dingies that pulled up and anchored for this thing. 

Pretty cool if you’re a billionaire. 

Not so much if you’re talking to a girl who got flown out there for the weekend by one. 

Anyway, Summit has a residency on Monday nights in Ibiza at UNVRS this summer, so he flew to Europe early this weekend to headline a big F1 close out party in Monaco on Sunday night. 

Everything seemed to be going great. The place looked so packed you couldn’t move, the crowd was jumping around, loving the music, until all that came to a screeching halt. 

Travis Scott, real name Jacques Bermon Webster II, decided to roll in 2 hours after his scheduled set time, and demanded Summit cut the music so he could go on.

And this was John trying to exit the stage area amidst all the chaos. 

Shout out to his tech and lighting guy Erik who also took over security responsibilities it appeared in the video. 

(Sidebar- aside from being one of the best lighting and visual production guys in the world, Erik is a bad motherfucker. He used to run everything at this big rooftop club in Austin, TX back in the day that I used to dj at, called, Summit (no joke). I was fucking terrified of him for years and years. It finally took a friend of mine who was good friends with him too, to convince me to try and warm up to him. Turns out he ended up being the nicest guy ever, and is fucking hysterical. Unless you piss him off. Like the cactus jack crew did last night)

Back to Monaco. What a shit show. 

And still so extremely on brand for Travis Scott. 

I honestly don’t think I have ever heard of him showing up on time for a single performance, or starting at an announced/scheduled time. Literally in his life. 

I don’t know if he thinks it’s cool or makes him look like a rockstar to do that, but making it your trademark, and then acting like a diva when you do roll in, is so incredibly lame. 

10-15 min late, I understand. You can blame traffic. Or security. Or your driver. Whatever. But 2, 3, 4 hours late on a regular basis, is just fucking so insanely disrespectful to everybody it’s wild. The venue staff, whoever gets stuck having to keep the crowd entertained not knowing if or when you’ll decide to show up, and most of all, your fans who paid a lot of money to come see you and support you.

But it didn’t phase Summit. Guy just continues having the best attitude about everything.
