Star Power: Eleonora Incardona Still Got The Call Up To Cover The World Cup Despite Italy Missing It For The 3rd Straight Time

A couple months ago the unthinkable happened. Italy missed its 3rd straight World Cup, this time on PKs. But that's not the real story here. We're in the middle of roster announcements. People screaming about Diego Luna or Christian Roldan or who got left off whatever country they cheer for. But you know who did get the call up?

Eleonora Incardona

That's how you know you have star power. You get the call up to the World Cup despite your national team not being there. Can't say we're surprised though

You won't hear any arguments here, unless Giusy Meloni gets snubbed. Then Italy has a real problem on their hands and deserve to miss another World Cup. I think it makes sense. Italy loves soccer, even if their team stinks outside of that Euro title they won. But, hey, we welcome them to our bandwagon. You're already sending Eleonora, we have Pulisic and McKennie playing, so you can keep an eye on some of the club guys. Come join our bandwagon, we welcome all fans to US Soccer making history.

Either way, congrats to Eleonora. Dominated the Club World Cup headlines and now gets back to America for the real World Cup. Star power through and through.
