Pro Athletes- They Are Just Like Us - Kendrick Perkins Involved In An AAU Scuffle

This is refreshing. If you grew up on the AAU circuit or follow the timelines of different events around the calendar across the country, you know that AAU is a content factory all year. Between the insane fees to get into a gym.

questionable age brackets or wondering how a player could possibly be that age

the people or teams clearly baiting you for content

And of course the fights …

Now, I do think the circuit has gotten SIGNIFICANTLY WORSE over the years. When I played AAU at 12 years old there was one team in my age group on the entire island. We had 12-15 kids on the roster, made up of the best players off the 10 "A" teams in the CYO Division, we played from early April - end of June, and it was an awesome experience. That same age group has 13 AAU teams now, and there's only 8 "A" teams in the division. It cannot be possible that the entire division is good enough to play AAU, it just can't, and that shows by the fact that it feels like every game is a blowout every weekend. What's the point? Also parents back then, and credit to them all, did not get involved in the game nearly as much as they do now- whether it's fighting other parents, refs, or even other players. Never happened. Somewhere along the line we got 23984940920 teams and 34985893902940924002 players and 5883845902920011818 parents all acting like idiots and it's a shame. I don't fault Kendrick Perkins here fully because unfortunately, if you go to enough games this day and age you are bound to be in a scuffle sadly. And of course, as I warned many people in the last two years about Gotchya culture, we only see half the story here and never what they did to bait Kendrick because he's the star. They will only release what can make him look bad, a tale as old as time.
