Dumbest Decision In Sports: The NCAA Has Reportedly 'Initiated The Final Steps' To Expand The Tournament To 76 Teams, Will Start The Stupidity Next Year
FUCK THIS. You know how there's one thing people agree on? It's the NCAA Tournament being perfect at 64 teams. The play-in games are whatever, they don't really count. It's 64 teams. Now we're expanding it for no reason besides old guys crying that their schools didn't make it. Fuck them and fuck you if you wanted this. It's the dumbest decision in sports.
You immediately downgrade the regular season and conference tournaments. Oh and if you think it's the mid-majors getting more bids? Yeah, that's a dumber thought process than this. Be ready for some shitty 11th place team in the Big 10 to get in. There's no reason for this. It's the perfect set up right now. You have 30 regular season games and then a conference tournament to get a bid. We don't need to reward some dogshit team for not winning games.
This isn't adding more games, if anything we're losing games. We're games that matter because of this expansion. Good timing too considering we're coming off the best regular season in decades. This is exactly what people want. An expanded tournament not to reward teams that actually deserve it. It's going to be a shitshow and I hope it blows up in their face. No one and I mean no one should be supporting this. You get a couple more 'tournament' games and some AD celebrating that they made it despite being a 13 seed or however it looks. Cut it back to 64 teams if anything. And I know the argument some people have is 'well Division I has expanded.' You think teams like Stonehill, Le Moyne and Western Georgia are the reason for this? No, it's the AD at a power conference school who has a basketball team constantly failing trying to save his job and get more money. That's all it comes down to.
It's quite literally the dumbest decision in sports and it's the same organization that has Cal and Stanford playing in the ACC. You're ruining the one thing people loved. You're expanding despite the fact not one single person wants it to. Awesome.
