Colorado Rockies Fan Sacrifices Body (Not Beer) In Early Contender For Foul Ball Catch Of The Year

It took me a several viewings of that 3-second long clip before I was able to piece together exactly what I was seeing. It's a bit confusing, you see, because this diving fan is facing the opposite direction of the batter when he "yeets" himself down multiple rows of seats.

I finally came to realize he was playing a bounce off the second deck. Either way, what a display of sacrificing the body. That's not a soft landing. I bet the bruise is nasty. Zack Hample's child trampling ass could never.

Note: I'm gonna be so pissed if we come to learn that was Zack Hample

Coors Field is almost exclusively known for producing great offense. But there there's something in the air in Denver right now other than a lack of oxygen. Rockies fans are making "catch of the year" caliber plays every other night. Beers and babies be damned.

Well done, guys. The Rockies have come a long way since their own fans were suing them for being so bad at baseball that it was damn near impossible to pay attention to hard hit projectiles coming straight for your eye.

Well, I guess they haven't come that far. The team is still only 9-15. But I'm sure they've had worse starts. We're over halfway through April, and the Rockies are only 7.5 games out of first place. Things really starting to come together out west. Go Rockies #MountainsUp
