Pablo Torre Found Out James Dolan Allegedly Monitors Fans Who Post Negative Social Media Comments About His Teams And MSG Security Tracked Charles Oakley Across The Country

So this story hit the internet early this morning and I gotta admit, I breathed a sigh of relief. Partially because I always figured James Dolan was running some MSGulag shit with his secret police for years given how I cut my teeth at Barstool calling out all the awful shit he did, which included allegedly booting fans that didn't like him from games. With better technology comes better surveillance and better ways to put people on a blacklist. It's still an absolute pussy move by all involved, but absolutely none of it is surprising to me.

I also was relieved that Pablo didn't find any Aspiration-level smoking guns that could somehow get the Knicks in serious trouble for signing Jalen Brunson as a free agent (JK, that spineless Adam Silver somehow still hasn't punished the Clippers for the 100 or so smoking nukes Pablo found about Kawhi Leonard and the Knicks were mocked by every mouthbreathing person following the NBA for giving Brunson a $104 million contract).

Nonetheless, here we are once again dealing with James Dolan allegedly taking on the people that pay exorbitant amounts of money to watch the basketball team he owns like any good supervillain would.

I truly can't see anybody but Dolan being the influence for that Space Jam character outside of the fact that asshole seems to care about his customers, which allowed these shirts to sell like crazy during the dark days of the Knicks under Dolan's reign of terror.

Now at least the Knicks are back to being a regular in the playoffs instead of living in basketball purgatory and on the back pages for embarrassing reasons like they did for a good chunk of Dolan's tenure as owner. Alienating fans from a good team is messed up. But alienating fans from disastrous teams like the ones Isiah Thomas put together like an 8-year-old playing 2K is flat out twisted.

Which takes me to my point from this story, which has been my point since James Dolan came into all of our lives and made them markedly worse. James Dolan sucks. He sucked when the Knicks are bad, he sucks when the Knicks are good, and he sucks when you forget he exists because he finally stopped meddling with your teams.

He also sucks if he sends his goons to follow one of the most beloved players in franchise history because he actually had the balls to call out Dolan for his bullshit.

Again, nothing about this being true would surprise me in the least. Hell, George Steinbrenner did the same thing to Dave Winfield back when Winfield was playing for him and didn't have an open court case against him like Oakley does with Dolan. All this story did was awaken the little voice in the back of my head that reminds myself to enjoy the Knicks success now because it can all fall apart QUICKLY if/when the toxic owner starts meddling again, which makes this year's playoffs feel like a must win somehow even more than it did 24 hours ago. Good times.
