ALL HANDS ON DECK - Kentucky Frat Boys Have The Coaching Staff Stopping By Their House, All Of Lexington Helping Mark Pope Recruit The Biggest Names Out There
Recruiting in college sports days is bizarre to say the least. Some coaches have talked about how they like it more because you're not having to hop on a plane on a Tuesday night to go watch a high school game and then spend years recruiting these kids. You can do your scouting, send an offer and that's it. But gone are the days where we typically saw player x is on campus, you roll out the red carpet, maybe have a couple photoshoots and everyone pictures THAT scene in He Got Game.
But at Kentucky we know how important this year is. Last year sucked. Mark Pope is on the hot seat coming into this year. No real Kentucky fan wants Mark Pope to fail, that would be dumb. That means it's another year of being pissed off. So what do you? You go all hands on deck. You find out the No. 1 recruit Tyran Stokes is on campus, you find out one of the top transfers Rob Wright and Donnie Freeman are on campus. You become the story.
That's what these frat boys did. You make signs, you show these guys that you want them here. Maybe bring them to Tin Roof or whatever is the version of Two Keys circa 1998-2009. You get some bed sheets and hang them up to the point these players want to go see it

You inspire a movement throughout all of Lexington. From the Avenue of Champions to Rose Street to Park Street to Euclid to Woodland to State Street to Main Street. It don't matter, you sacrifice a bed sheet

You get the point. I fucking love it. It's all hands on deck. You show the recruits that you want them here, you show them Rupp Arena and the facilities, you bring them to Keeneland and not for the horses. It takes all of Lexington to get back where we belong. NIL, bed sheets, number 9. That's all we gotta think about now. Can't be worse than last year and this is what we needed. We need everyone doing their part. Get at least two of these and build the roster out. Best fans in the world.
