This Parrot is Scuba Diving

Good stuff, Bebe. Not many parrots can say they've experienced scuba diving in the Bahamas. I bet scuba diving is pretty awesome for a parrot. Maybe even more awesome than it is for humans. Parrots have crazy good eyesight. Their eyes are on the side of their head, so they have a 300-degree field of vision. They can see the "ultraviolet spectrum", which means they perceive a wider and more vibrant range of colors than we do (picture from YouTube video below).

And no, Bebe the scuba diving parrot is not AI. Unless his owner is really, really committed to the bit. Bebe has a whole Instagram page dedicated to his parrot adventures. His owner explains the whole thing. Bebe the parrot went scuba diving in the Bahamas for 15 minutes. He entered the submarine willingly. He was not stressed.

Yes, he also takes his parrot skydiving. Which at first I thought was some type of cruel joke. Like these people clipped Bebe's wings, then took him up in the sky like, "Hey Bebe, look what you could have been doing every day of life if we didn't mutilate you? Wouldn't this be cool?"

But for one, parrots can't fly THAT high. For two, Bebe the Parrot's wings appear to be fully in tact. He's just a well-trained domestic parrot. Bebe could fly away if he wanted to, but he always comes back.

I guess he might not really have a choice. I'm not sure if the climate where he lives is conducive to wild parrots. But as far as pet birds go, aside from the one's living on the shoulder of a pirate, Bebe seems to be living a better, more extreme life than most.
