Some Things: Tommy Lloyd Grabbed A Mic After Bringing Arizona To Its First Final Four In 25 Years So He Could Pay Respect To Lute Olson In Front Of America

Consider this a respect blog. I respect everything about Arizona basketball. I have a soft spot for Arizona basketball. Outside of the 1997 title game, I've always wanted Arizona to win. Wanted them to beat Duke in 2001. Wanted them to beat Wisconsin in 2015. Really wanted that one. Was always a huge fan of Jason Garden's high socks and rocking the 22. So I respect Arizona.

The real reason? Lute Olson. He was the coach who brought them to where we know in America. He's the guy who won it in 97 when they were the first team to beat all 3 1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament. I still think Sean Miller doesn't get the credit he deserves in Arizona simply because he couldn't beat Kemba or Wisconsin. One of those shots goes a certain way for him and we're talking about Arizona and Sean Miller differently. At least Tommy Lloyd knows that:

Lute Olson with the white hair, coaching Arizona was just a staple for most of us in our late 30s and older. He's the reason Arizona is in this weird area to describe a program. Not a blue blood, but a damn good program, who needed another trip after constantly losing early it felt like. That was Arizona and Tommy Lloyd took it and ran. The dude has been a 1 seed, building this monster and he finally has the team who is the best team in the country.

That said, this quote, yeah could do without it:

Can't be saying that when UNC is trying to poach you. Either way, shout out Lute Olson. What we saw last night was an old school win too. Let Purdue play well in the first half and then just strangle them in the second. Koa Peat looked like first night of the season Koa Peat again. It doesn't matter if you take away Burries, they'll just beat you with Bradley or Kharchencov becoming a consistent scorer. This team is fucking awesome and we saw it last night.
