CONFIRMED: The NFL Won't Ban The Tush Push For 2026, Mainly Because The Eagles Aren't As Good At It Anymore

Let me take you back to last year's NFL offseason. Everyone and their mother was talking about how the Tush Push HAD to be banned. How we needed to get the Men In Black neuralyzers out and wipe everyone's memory of the Tush Push even existing, because the Eagles ran a dangerous play that was an abomination to the integrity of football. People lost their fucking minds over this.

Despite a league-wide effort to ban it, the Tush Push managed to live on past the NFL owners' meetings and make it to the 2025 season. And now that we had to suffer through the HORROR of the Tush Push for another full year, surely the NFL owners are talking about banning it this offseason, right?

Nope. They're not saying a fucking word.

What happened?

Did the Tush Push get less dangerous over the calendar year? Did it suddenly become a far more entertaining play to the consumer? Did teams just stop running it on their own altogether?

The answer to all those questions is no. Shocker. In fact, the Bills -- the same team that was whining about the play being too unsafe -- actually ran the Tush Push more frequently than 95% of the league. They even broke it out on the goal line against Jacksonville to advance to the Divisional Round.

So why no fuss about the play this offseason? The only logical explanation is that the Eagles weren't as good at running it last year. And since Philly no longer had this unstoppable play that aided them in winning a Super Bowl, there was no need for anyone to make a big stink over it.

The Eagles offensive line used to be the best in the league. It's why Saquon Barkley was setting rushing records and ripping off 60 yard runs every game. It's why the Birds could impose their will on any defense in short yardage. In 2025, though, everything changed. Lane Johnson missed the last eight games of the season with an injury. Landon Dickerson was banged up all year, and Cam Jurgens missed some time with injuries, too. The unit that used to be the strength of the team was now a shell of itself, leading to the Tush Push success rate taking a drastic dip.

Just wait for the big boys to get back to full strength this year. The Eagles will return to running the Tush Push with ease, and once that happens, there will be serious outrage.

Sure, the league will let the cute little Bills run it. We can allow them to do whatever they want as we pat Josh Allen on the head. But the second the Eagles get their swagger back and run that play to perfection again, you better BELIEVE the owners will come back looking to ban it in 2027. Hypocrites.
