The Story Of Seven Stolen Dogs Escaping An Illegal Transport Truck On Its Way To A Dog Meat Factory In China And Traveling 10 Miles Over 2 Days To Find Their Way Home Is Taking The Internet By Storm

MSN News - The video of seven dogs from different breeds traveling together, uncertain about where to go, stopping to see curious passersby, has been doing the rounds. As social media users ask Grok whether the video is real, the South China Morning Post reported that the seven dogs walking along a busy highway in Changchun, Jilin province, were spotted by a netizen surnamed Lu.

They were stolen by thieves working for a dog meat shop and were whisked away in a truck. But the seven dogs escaped from the truck and returned home, traveling 17 km in two days.

The group of dogs included a German Shepherd, which was injured, a Corgi, Golden Retreivers, Labradors and Pekinese dogs.

“They resemble a band of little brothers in distress, moving in unison – nothing like stray dogs," Lu told Dahe Daily. Lu said he tried to help the dogs several times, wanted to guide them to safety, but the dogs kept on walking and ignored his attempts. Lu shared the video on Douyin, urging the authorities to step in.

The dogs were seen wandering through nearby fields by some others, too, along the way. As their videos started going viral on Chinese social media, volunteers tracked their movement and ensured that they were home safely. Bitter Coffee Stray Dog Base told SCMP that the dogs are from the save village and they know each other as they often play together and that's why they remained in a pack for two days as they returned home.

One volunteer claimed that individuals operating a dog meat shop had stolen the dogs, suggesting they may have escaped from a truck, though no witnesses saw their departure.

Based on the timeline of the videos of them walking back home, it's believed that they escaped on March 16 and returned to their respective homes on March 18.

This story went from absolute nightmare to the greatest movie pitch Hollywood has ever been gift wrapped on a silver platter in about thirty seconds.

These seven dogs, a German Shepherd, a Corgi, Golden Retrievers, Labs, and Pekinese, somehow broke out of a moving truck and walked 17 kilometers over two days to get back home.

All as one. A solidified unit. No dog left behind.

Through highways and fields and past strangers trying to help them. They looked at every single Good Samaritan who approached and collectively said, "We're good actually. We know where we're going. Get the fuck away from us"

(Sidebar- that little Corgi made that 10 mile trip on four-inch legs. Fuck. Put some respect on that dog's name.)

My favorite part of this story is that these dogs all come from the same village. They legit all knew each other. They played together regularly.

So when they busted out of that truck, it wasn't seven confused strays wandering aimlessly, it was a squad.

Seven ride-or-dies who took one look at the situation, understood the assignment, and said nah, we're not winding up on a lunch special. Not today. Not ever.

Some guy named Lu allegedly spotted them walking along a busy highway and described them as "a band of little brothers in distress, moving in unison."

Yah, cute Lu.

He tried to help multiple times.

The dogs wanted NO part of his assistance.

Which honestly shows incredible trust issues but also is completely justified given what they'd just been through.

Some piece of shit put them in a truck thirty minutes ago. Fool me once, shame on you...

The German Shepherd was injured during the whole ordeal, by the way.

Didn't matter.

Still walked.

Still led the pack.

That's a dog who looked down at a hurt leg and said I'll deal with this when I'm home. Very "Kobe hitting free throws on a torn achilles" energy.

Someone in Hollywood needs to option this story IMMEDIATELY.

This is Homeward Bound if Homeward Bound had twice the amount of dogs and actual life-or-death stakes instead of a loser kid at summer camp.

You've got the dogs being taken to a Chinese death camp  dog meat slaughterhouse if they can't escape.

You've got the tough leader with the injury in the alpha German Shepherd.

You've got the little scrappy Corgi who has no business making this journey but refuses to quit. All heart.

You've got the Labs and Goldens providing the emotional heart and comedic relief.

The Pekinese bringing chaotic energy.

This whole fucking thing writes itself. Even for a washed up and lazy Hollywood like today.

Get me a narrator like Sam Elliott. Get me a training montage through the fields like Rocky 4.

(Sidebar- "Hearts on Fire" such a fire jam still to this day.)

Get me the slow-motion shot of all seven cresting a hill as the village comes into view. I will cry my fucking eyes out in a theater and I will not apologize for it one iota.
