"I Give A Ton Of Credit To My High School Principal, He Had The Balls To Throw A Student Out" - Joe Mazzulla Had Another All Time Response When Asked About Jaylen Brown's Bullshit Ejection

While the Celts ultimately fell short last night in their battle against the Spurs, it certainly wasn't the worst loss we've ever seen. No Pritchard, no Vuc, Tatum on his minutes restriction, Jaylen Brown getting tossed after being the best player on the court for his 8 minutes, that's an uphill battle if I've ever seen one, and to their credit the Celts battled through the 4th quarter before running out of gas.

Aside from Wemby being utterly ridiculous, the story of the night was Jaylen Brown's crash out and ensuing ejection, which anyone with working eyes and a brain knows was complete bullshit

After rewatching it a few times, you know who clearly loved it? This guy

There's no doubt in my mind that Joe Mazzulla thought that entire fiasco was erotic as hell. That's the stuff that gets his blood pumping, and it made me think about the time at Summer League when Jordan Walshed crashed out during a game against the Heat and got tossed, and he said Joe immediately texted him telling him that he loved it. Of course he does, that's the basketball psycho we all know and love.

I couldn't wait to see how Joe was going to handle this postgame, because that's usually when he brings out his best stuff. As you can imagine, he didn't disappoint

Post Game Joe when the officials do something extremely fucked up is one of my favorite Joes. We've had our fair share of hilarious moments after plays that were later confirmed by the L2M that the refs fucked up, but over Joe's dead body are you going to catch him for a fine. There was the time he went full Mike Vrabel 

There was then the time after a Siakam illegal screen (which the NBA later admitted was a missed call), and the only thing he did was answer "illegal screen" to every question of his presser

And now last night, with the high school principal approach. I'm no even sure where he pulled that from, but it works. Tyler Ford was the lead ref, and he was too much of a coward to toss Jaylen himself, even after he was the one who caused everything, so then the outside ref, the hall monitor, took it upon himself. You're not that important man! Stop trying to make yourself feel important!

What I love about that quote is the fact that he's able to take a shot at both refs, and can't be fined for it. Where did he break the rules? Where did he criticize the officials? Nowhere, even though we all know what he meant.

The beauty in all of this is that it's not even really a schtick. This is just who Joe Mazzulla is and has been since Day 1. Why fork over thousands of dollars when you can get your point across even better in a creative way? It's not like Adam Silver is going to do anything about his dogshit officiating, so you may as well find a way to get your shots in a not have to cut a check.

This is why the players love Joe. They'll die for Joe because they know he'll die for them. Plus, he also does shit like this

It's all in part as to why Mazzulla isn't just the COTY, he's one of the best coaches in the history of the sport and easily one of the best Celtics coaches of my lifetime. 

Seriously though Adam, fix your goddamn officiating problem. It's ruining your product.
