While In The Penalty Box Jack Hughes Was Worried About Being "On Barstool As The Guy America Hates" If The USA Ended Up Losing...Who Do We Think He Was Talking About?

Pretty unreal day for me, for you, for Team USA, for America. To win the gold for the first time in 46 years, it was special. A true "remember where you were" moment. 

For Jack Hughes though, it was almost a nightmare. He got called for a high sticking penalty and put Team USA at the a disadvantage in the 3rd period. And the whole time he was in the penalty box, only one thing was on his mind- please don't be on Barstool as the guy America hates!

NHL - Not only did the Americans fail to score on the power play, Hughes came on the ice and took a high-sticking penalty to negate the last 49 seconds of the man advantage.

He got his stick up in the face of Canadian forward Bo Horvat at 16:37, setting up a 4-on-4 before Canada would go on a power play for 1:11.

Hughes had thoughts as he sat in the penalty box.

“I pictured myself on Barstool [Sports] being, like, the guy that America hates because Canada scores on the power play,” he said. “I was like, ‘Oh my God, here it is.’”

His teammates saved him by killing off the penalty.

Don't worry Jack, nobody will ever have a bad thing to say about you ever again.

Well….almost nobody.

You gotta believe that he was in Italy, in the gold medal game, thinking about one man and one man only….

If Jack goes on Chiclets that's what I need to know. Was he sitting there being like "oh god, Frank is going to roast my ass", or was it more in a general, broad sense? 

I don't think anyone at Barstool (probably Frank included) would have actually blamed Jack Hughes if the USA lost, but thank goodness we never will have to know! Twas a great day, and congrats to Team USA!
