Conor McGregor Says He Has Accepted A Fight, And That His Opponent Is A "No Name"

Conor McGregor was livetweeting along with the UFC card tonight in Houston - and also seemingly building a LEGO boat at the dinner table….

….and he towards the end of the main event, Conor tweeted: "It’s a no name up next for me possibly, folks. And as you know, idgaf. I ACCEPT. Send the contract, lads."

This comes days after claiming he's been offered an opponent/date for his return that he accepted, and that he was just waiting on the contract….

Now, I suppose I should say take this with a grain of salt because McGregor claims a lot of things - including having signed onto the White House card back in October, almost five months before the card was being worked on….

….and also his UFC contract being voided last month, due to the Paramount deal….

….and I mean we've obviously heard about "the greatest comeback in sports history" in general for quite some time now, as the documentary about it was released almost three friggin years ago. I'll believe Conor McGregor is back when Bruce Buffer is doing his introduction in the octagon at this point….but it does feel like if it's gonna happen, maybe it'll happen at the White House - right? Conor seems to want that really bad, and I think Dana wants this to be the biggest names imaginable for Trump - even if they could make more money putting McGregor on an event where they could sell more tickets. Imagine the visual of Conor McGregor walking out of the Oval Office into the octagon?

Now the question is: who would he face? He claims it's a "no name" - and Dana put the kibosh on the Michael Chandler fight recently….

Conor also tweeted a welterweight rankings screenshot tonight, possibly hinting at who it could be?

It seems the popular guess is Belal Muhammad, but I don't have a clue if I'm being honest. Belal seems like a horrible return matchup for Conor in my eyes, as nobody wants to see him come back to get grapplefucked. I think you gotta put him in there with someone would would stand and bang. Someone like….Michael Chandler? Or hell - just re-sign Nate Diaz and complete the trilogy there before they're so old it's sad!

I mean - McGregor against anyone is a draw, because it's McGregor, but none of the names on that list both make sense and feel super exciting matchup wise. It'll be weird to see who it winds up being.
