An Australian Reporter Had To Apologize For Getting A Little Too Drunk Before Hopping On Air During The Olympics And Randomly Talking About Iguanas

Oh, I'm sorry. You can't have a couple drinks and talk about iguanas on TV during the Olympics these days? I thought this was just fine in Australia. Now, I gotta admit, I think I love Danika Mason. Why? This was her apology

[Source] - Danika Mason was recording a segment for Channel Nine’s Today show from Livigno in the evening when she stumbled over her words and went off topic to “iguanas”, prompting studio host Karl Stefanovic to explain to viewers that “cold weather” can sometimes inhibit speaking.

Mason apologised the next day, saying she “shouldn’t have had a drink” and the “cold, we’ve got altitude, not having had dinner probably didn’t help as well”.

Who among us hasn't blamed the cold, altitude or not having dinner on why you got a little too drunk? It's the perfect apology. Admit that you had a drink and then come up with reasons why it was misjudged. I don't blame her. I mean you're in Italy, in this beautiful area with some of the best wine around, you're not going to enjoy yourself a bit? Maybe you don't need to talk about iguanas, but it's Australia. I'm assuming they always have an iguana problem over there or something.

She brought attention to the Olympics if you ask me, then again I'm not in Australia so who knows. But you got people talking about Danika Mason talking about coffee and iguanas and having a good time. Makes me want to go to Milan right now. Just remember for anyone going out this weekend, maybe you turn back the clock a little bit and think you still have it. Just blame it on the cold. Follow the Danika Mason playbook. She's now made my list of elite reporters across the world.
