Every Philadelphia Athlete Should Banned From Purchasing The House Most Recently Owned By Both Nick Castellanos And Ben Simmons
I never believed in anything like hauntings or curses or spirits before. I always thought you'd have to be a complete dipshit to believe in any sort of paranormal activity. That the only way you could think any of that is real is if you crave attention, and have zero grasp on reality.
But now I'm starting to think there might be some truth behind it. At the very least, there might be specific energies associated with a person or an object that are able to attach themselves to people. Because the fact that Nick Castellanos bought the house that Ben Simmons used to live in, and then both of their times in Philadelphia came to such an abrupt and disastrous end? Well that can't be purely coincidence.
Ben Simmons was traded to Brooklyn in February of 2022. The Phillies then signed Nick Castellanos in March of 2022. And just a couple weeks later in April, it turned out that Nick Castellanos bought Ben Simmons' house in Moorestown, NJ.
Right off the bat, people were worried about this development. Right off the bat, people knew this couldn't be a good sign of things to come. But for a while, Nick Castellanos was able to thwart the fears of the house being haunted.
The Phillies made it to the World Series in 2022. He was an All-Star in 2023. He played all 162 games in 2024. Everything was going great for Nick Castellanos as a Philadelphia Phillie. Sure, there were times when he went ice cold and Philly fans would get frustrated with him. But then June of 2025 happened. The Miami Incident, no longer being an every day player, the overall tension in the clubhouse. It got to the point where the Phillies had to release a man they paid $100 million to at one point because they couldn't keep him on the team, and they couldn't find anybody who was willing to trade for him.
And I mean…I get it. It's a beautiful looking home. It's a great sized property. When you're a professional athlete in Philadelphia looking for somewhere to live and raise a family, it's a great location. It's not like there are a ton of options out there, so a house that is constantly on the market every few years after an athlete gets shipped out of town isn't the worst thing in the world. But if you are going to purchase this home, there should be an automatic clause in your contract that puts you on a one-year deal. We can't afford to be signing guys to long-term contracts, and then having them move into this house. Because it's only a matter of time before their career in Philadelphia goes to shit, and they need to be moved. If you decide to buy that house, you're on a one-year deal every season you live there. That has to be the rule. Wouldn't be shocked if AJ Brown finds himself in there this season.
