Sunday's Episode Of "A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms" Has A 9.8 Rating On IMDB, Making It One Of The Best Episodes In Television History
At this point I don't even think it's worth debating if Thrones is back because Thrones is motherfucking #BACK!!! Sure having your penultimate episode land as the 48th-highest episode on IMDb after landing a 9.8 rating, with only the immortal Ozymandias episode of Breaking Bad being a perfect 10, is good.

Especially for those of us that were gonna have to Bic their head for the first time despite only using an electric razor their entire life.
But anybody who has watched this show knows we are getting those old Thrones vibes back despite episodes being 30 minutes longer with much smaller stakes than the epic drama that put Westeros on the TV map 15 years ago. It may not have the sprawling world feel or the actual magic that comes with undead armies and dragons. But AKOTSK has moments that are, as the kids say, absolute cinema.
Again, I don't think the short stories of Dunk and Egg are gonna top some of the bigger-than-life storylines from Thrones that spanned multiple continents, a dozen major characters, and motherfucking dragons. But damn it feels good for Thrones to show it can succeed after a horrible final season followed by two uneven House of the Dragon seasons, as well as A+ memes returning on Sunday night as you catch your breath from whatever carnage just took place on your TV.

We dove MUCH more into this instant classic episode on My Mom's Basement with special guest Brendan Clancy, who does in depth breakdowns of all things Westeros on TikTok and YouTube. We also drafted two Trial Of Seven teams using only Barstool employees, which would be the best/worst trial of seven in recorded history. So check it out below and make sure to subscribe/turn on notifications for the My Mom's Basement YouTube to catch us as soon we go live after Sunday's season finale.
