Allegations of Cheating in Curling Are Currently Shaking The Olympics To Their Core

If you thought that curling would be the sport filled with the most drama and intrigue and chaos at these 2026 Winter Olympics, then you would be absolutely correct.

Sure, ski jump has athletes injecting shots of acid into their dickholes to give themselves a competitive advantage. Sure, figure skating has corrupt judges unfairly scoring athletes based on their nationalities. But in yesterday's men's curling matchup between Canada and Sweden, we were witness to one of the most heated and contentious moments of these Olympics so far.

It's difficult to blog about this incident because the Olympics suck so hard about broadcasting rights. So I'm not able to post any clips of the actual blow up on the ice, because NBC doesn't have that video anywhere. But the clips are easy enough for anyone to find on Twitter.

Let's introduce the main characters in this dust up real quick. First up we have Marc Kennedy of Team Canada, and Oskar Eriksson of Team Sweden. Eriksson calls out the Canadians for illegally double touching the stones on their release. Marc Kennedy is a good ol' boy from Alberta, so he's not going to take kindly to any allegations of cheating. He immediately starts telling Oskar Eriksson to fuck off. How dare you question Marc Kennedy's honor and integrity? You think 'Berta Boys are out here trying to cheat their way to the top? He unequivocally rebukes those claims of tomfoolery. I don't know how many times there has been an actual fight in curling, but this looked to be as close as we'd get to fists getting thrown.

The only issue is...well...it sure seems like he was cheating.

Again, it's easy enough for anyone to find the clips on Twitter. But Marc Kennedy releases the stone from the handle, and then gives it a little tap with his finger on the way out before the "hog line".

Quick sidenote here: "Hog line" is just hilarious terminology here out of curling. Like imagine if hockey referred to the crease as the "cock zone".

Anyway, there is a rule that says that a double touch of the stone is allowed as long as it happens before the hog line.

That would lead you to believe that Marc Kennedy wasn't cheating, and that his suggestion to Oskar Eriksson to "fuck off" was fully warranted. However, the World Curling Federation just sent out this email to all the teams at the Olympics to clarify the rules. And here's where Oskar Eriksson could get a chance to un-fuck himself.

While a re-touch of the stone is allowed before the delivery end of the hog line, that re-touch must be by using the handle. You're not allowed to touch the granite of the stone at any point. So Marc Kennedy tapping the stone with his finger after the release should have resulted in that stone being removed from play. The Swedes were right, and the Canadians were cheating. Now Oskar Eriksson is getting told to fuck off for being right?

World Curling made sure to give Marc Kennedy a little whack on the peepee for that one.

My only issue here is that I don't think Marc Kennedy was necessarily out of line when he repeatedly told Eriksson to fuck off. In my opinion, he was just speaking Canadian there. It's like how nobody bats an eye when Australians call someone a cunt. It's just a standard part of their vernacular. You're basically penalizing Marc Kennedy at this point for speaking his native tongue.

Anyway, Sweden is the reigning gold medalists. Canada won bronze in Beijing 4 years ago. There's a good chance we see these two teams go up against each other again in this tournament, and potentially for gold. That's going to be must watch. We might see a broom get snapped over someone's head.
