Revenge of the Miss: Lane Kiffin Gets Wrecked While Playing Pickleball

There are plenty of decisions Lane Kiffin has made recently that you could disagree with. But at the end of the day, you only get one life to live. And Lane Kiffin has been making all of his decisions with that in mind, and trying to give himself the best possible life he can have. If that means he needs to abandon his team in the middle of a run to the National Championship, then so be it.

But this decision right here? To attempt to hit an Erne on a ball that had already bounced in the kitchen? This is without a doubt the worst decision that Lane Kiffin has ever made.

For the ill-informed, uncultured bags of shit out there--an "Erne" in pickleball is when a player leaps across the non-volley zone (or "kitchen") to take a ball out of the air. You're not allowed to hit the ball out of the air if you are standing in the kitchen, so a player will jump from the kitchen line to the sideline in an attempt to put the ball away while it's still hanging up in the air. It's a high risk shot, and now we see why lower level players shouldn't even consider attempting it.

For starters, he didn't need to hit an Erne there. It looks like the ball already bounced, so he could have been in the kitchen to hit his next shot at that point. For some reason, some people think you're just never allowed to step in the kitchen at all. Not the case. At this point, Lane Kiffin is toast. He's in an awful position, and doesn't have a play on the ball that can end the point. The best option here would just be to dink middle. Try to buy yourself a little time to get back into the point, and live to see another shot. Instead, Lane Kiffin decides to put one right into his opponent's wheel house.

BODYBAG CITY! POPULATION LANE KIFFIN

If I were an Ole Miss fan that actually cared about the team more than my personal connection to Lane Kiffin, I would sit here and watch this point on repeat for the rest of eternity. Just watch Lane Kiffin get tagged time and time and time again. Putting himself in such a vulnerable spot, and then getting properly annihilated. Anytime you get a chance to bodybag someone who is getting paid $13 million a year, you have to take it. I'm glad that this fella was able to take full advantage of that opportunity.
