When it comes to the Winter Olympics, it's really gotta be hockey or some crazy storyline that ropes me in to watch. No offense to Jeff D Lowe, but I won't be found watching a random curling match for fun. Enter Lindsey Vonn and her torn ACL.

A few days ago we learned the American Olympian had shredded her knee during her final downhill run before things officially got underway in Italy for the Winter Games. A death sentence to just about anyone on Earth, not only at 41 years old, but also just days before her first race. Modern medicine has greatly sped up the timeline an recovery timeline for torn ACLs, but it's still at minimum a 6-8 month process. Vonn somehow vowed to keep going and not drop out of the event. Incredible news if you're a Vonn supporter, terrible if you're her replacement and were excited about the opportunity to get into the games last second.

Today we got this video of her squatting and working out that knee. Not entirely sure how this is happening if I'm being honest. Either it was only a partial tear of the ACL or she's a superhuman.

Either way, I'm now invested and will be tuned in Sunday AM to see if she's able to medal. I'm no ACL and skiing expert, but it feels like she shouldn't be able to actually compete with a shredded knee. Do you not need your ACL to ski?

"Considering how my knee feels, I feel stable, I feel strong. My knee is not swollen, and with the help of a knee brace, I am confident that I can compete on Sunday." (NBC)

Vonn was scheduled to have her first training session yesterday, but it was canceled because of heavy snow. So while the squatting looks great, there's still no telling how she's going to handle Olympic skiing with a freshly torn ACL. Here's to hoping she can pull this off and medal in her last ever olympics. Go Lindsey Go!
