Tough Times: Cristiano Ronaldo Is Reportedly On A One-Man Strike In Saudi Arabia Because He's Pissed His Team Isn't Getting Enough Good Players
[Source] - According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, Ronaldo is “unhappy” with how the PIF is managing Al Nassr compared to the treatment given to rival clubs Al Hilal, Al Ittihad and Al Ahli, which are owned by the same fund.
The Real Madrid legend is said to be “unsatisfied” with the investment—or lack thereof—at Al Nassr amid their push to snatch the Saudi Pro League crown from Al Ittihad. The club is currently just one point off league-leaders Al Hilal and were reportedly looking for reinforcements during the January transfer window, ones that seemingly never came.
Oh file this under things you hate to see. Ronaldo throwing a hissy fit because he thinks is something is unfair? I mean you can't be surprised, this guy is the biggest crybaby out there. Something doesn't go his way, he throws a fit and throws a temper tantrum. Remember the last of Manchester United?
Now, sure, I'm not going to be surprised that there's deeper issues in the Saudi Arabian soccer league. Nor do I care to do a full deep dive into if the PIF is giving unfair treatment to one of the teams they own compared to others. Seeing the words that Ronaldo is on strike is fucking hilarious. The dude is getting paid more money per day than me and you combined. You want to pay me $250 million a year or whatever it is and I'll play some soccer and not win. I don't care at that point. You're not playing in Saudi Arabia to build your legacy or get a bunch of titles (he hasn't won anything there). You're playing there because that money is so absurd that I can't even fathom it.
You know who would never do this? Messi. He just shows up in Kansas City or Cincinnati or Columbus or another midwestern city to play some soccer and win a title. He's not demanding all of his best friends and former teammates come play with him. He's not arguing that Matt Turner should have come down and play for Inter Miami. No sir. He just gets paid and plays soccer.
Everyone take a minute and think of Ronaldo. Tough to go through this sort of adversity and handle it any other way besides a one-man strike.
