Hand up - MAJOR FOMO watching this Tuesday night.
My boys were in the other room watching the NFL Flag Football game. Based on the minute or so I watched when I went in to break up yet another mini-hoop basketball game-turned-wrestling match, The Barstool After Dark Bowl was 100x better.
Did it run a little long? Maybe. I mean, Coach Gruden must have mentioned that about a million times on the broadcast. But it was a great watch, and I was jealous of my coworkers who got to take part. As a Championship-Winning Youth Flag Football Coach (shoutout Little Chargers), I have some money plays that would have COOKED. I was going to text them to Marty, but hopefully I'll get the call next year and have them ready to go.
If you missed it, you should watch it. But there were a few Top Plays you need to see ASAP.

In my opinion, the play of the night. Minty's one-handed (left-handed) catch for a touchdown in Game 1.
Last pick in the draft, zero (maybe negative, actually) expectations. Just a spectacular catch for a score. I must have watched this 10 times. Good for you, Mintzy.
There wasn't much defense from Team Big Cat or Team Portnoy in Game 2, but this play by Rico was huge. Great balance. Better decision-making. A lot of heart from Bosco on this play and all night.

Mike Katic was a beast out there. Blocking, making plays in the receiving game, just all over the field. Another guy Coach Gruden could not stop talking about.
Dominant series for Gilly in Game 1. Doing it all for this team to tie it up.
The officiating…was not great. This call, in particular, where it should have been a clear fumble out of the endzone, touchback, and possession, Team Portnoy. The ref just missed it. Awful call and a game-changer.

EBO with some huge plays late, including this one. He was unlocked in the title game.
Other notes I took during the game: Titus has a cannon. A Nicky Smokes vs. Marty series in different sports would be a good watch. White Sox Dave with an all-time dumb play. Feits is jacked. Poop Guy had a few nice plays. Running clock until the final 2 minutes in ALL games next year.
Eddie, Nick, and Coach Gruden were tremendous in the booth. Kate provided much more than most sideline reporters in the NFL or in college football. A great seven and a half hours of flag football!
Congrats to the winning team and to Tate for a fun event. Maybe next year I can put my money plays to work at Super Bowl 61 in LA.
