Couple's Goals: Livvy Dunne Only Wants Paul Skenes To Get Better, So She's Now Standing In The Box During His Bullpens To Provide a Jose Altuve-Esque Strike Zone
Cooper Neill. Getty Images.Last week we talked about how Paul Skenes is at the level he is as a pitcher because he will train six days a week wherever he is in the world. Even on vacation in the most beautiful places in the world, mornings are for him and his baseball while Livvy is given the freedom to do whatever she pleases. Ball up top.
Now you hear something like this with a couple and you suspect they're not meant to last long. Well credit to Livvy Dunne, she went the other way and is embracing it all. Instead of complaining, she's offering up her services for live ABs. Livvy grabbed a bat the other day and stood in the box to face Skenes during one of his bullpens. You wanna talk about a couple's trust level? There's may be the highest if she's doing this.
This is genius for Paul because of the massive rule change about to take place in baseball, which will allow hitters to challenge balls and strikes. You're not going to be able to steal strikes like in the past with a catcher creatively moving his glove as he catches the ball. Livvy provides a Jose Altuve-esque strike zone for Paul to lock in on. I don't envision Skenes walking a single batter all year. Cy Young number two is on deck.
Bullpens with Livvy in the morning, hang out on by the pool with Livvy in the afternoon. Decent life.
