The Pittsburgh Penguins Can Thank Their New "BJ Cam" For The Team's Incredible Turnaround This Season
The Pittsburgh Penguins are currently putting together one of the best seasons they've had in years.
This is a team that failed to make the playoffs in each of the past 3 seasons. They haven't won a playoff series since 2018, and that was just because they were lucky enough to have the Flyers in the 1st round that year. Crosby, Malkin, and Letang are all pushing 40-years-old, and the rest of the team is just a bunch of guys you've never even heard of before. Everybody thought this season would be all about the Penguins in the hunt to take Gavin McKenna with the 1st overall pick, and continue the legacy of generational superstars saving the Penguins from irrelevancy.
Instead, the Penguins are a top 10 team in the league. They've won 6 games in a row, and are on pace to have 100+ points in the standings this year. At 38-years-old, Sidney Crosby has 27 goals and 58 points in 53 games played this season.
And that's precisely the type of season that'll have fans all sorts of horned up during a night out at PPG Paints Arena. The Penguins were supposed to be in the basement of the league, and now they're in the honeymoon suite. The "kiss cam" is great and everything if you're a team just hoping to be around the playoff bubble in late March. But the Pittsburgh Penguins are on a tear, and the fans are properly turned on about the whole situation. The kiss cam can take a hike, and the blow cam is here to stay. I mean, honestly, how can you ask fans not to give each other head in the stands when Crosby and Malkin have already combined for 100 points so far this season? It's like they've turned the clocks back to 2016 in Pittsburgh. Everybody in that city is now 10-years younger, and thus they are also 10-years hornier. You bring things back to 1991 and '92 levels, and you'll have fans fucking on the jumbotron.
