Jayson Tatum Once Again Had The Perfect Response When Asked About The Media Always Trying To Cause A Rift Between Him And Jaylen Brown
Brian Babineau. Getty Images. With Jayson Tatum's potential return this season looking more and more real with each passing day, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know what else has started to creep back up again. You'll never believe this, but as new clips of Tatum's rehab come out, there seems to be this urge to rehash the same old bullshit that we had to deal with all the way back in 2019.
"How are Tatum and Brown going to exist?!?!?!?"
Giphy Images. In reality? Not only have they proven this to not be the case, I would argue that almost everything that people claim are issues (ego, fit, etc) have never been an actual problem. I'm not sure how many times both players have to tell you that they care about WINNING and that they both understand they need EACH OTHER to reach the ultimate goal, but for whatever reason, even here in 2026, you're still hearing the same bullshit.
I'm not sure how much clearer they both can make it for everybody
It's why this entire issue has always been so odd to me. Whether it's through their comments off the court or their play on it, it's as if people choose to ignore ALL OF IT and instead just try and push a wedge between the two.
And if you are someone who needs even more from these two about this topic, allow Jayson Tatum to explain it once again
Has it always been perfect? Of course not. Duos like this take time to figure things out. But one thing has always remained clear from Day 1
It has never, ever been Jayson Tatum vs Jaylen Brown. They've never played that way, they've never carried themselves that way, and as a result, they've been the most successful duo in the league and one of the best in all of NBA history. It may not work that way with other teams and other franchise players, but that is how it goes with THIS team and THIS franchise. They would both be awesome individually, that much is proven. But it's what they can do together that matters. It's the collective buy in form both players to put self-interest to the side for the sake of winning. It's what being a Celtic is all about, and why both Tatum and Brown are both well on their way to becoming All Time Celtics, if they aren't there already.
Instead, it's
"How will they coexist when Tatum is back?
"How is Jaylen going to take a backseat? With that ego???"
I dunno guys, probably the exact same way it's been happening at an EXTREMELY high level for nearly a decade now?
Personally, I cannot wait for the day we get that Shams bomb that Tatum has been cleared and we're back to life with the Jays on the floor together. Last time I checked, that life was pretty sweet. My only concern about any of it is how my body is going to handle it and not just combust from excitement.
Tatum and Brown working on the court together? Sorry, it's not 2018. We left those conversations a long time ago.
P.S.
I also loved this nugget from Tatum's interview. Talk your shit Champ. He's also not wrong
