"Pizza Capital Of the World My Ass." Basketball Legend Geno Auriemma Opened His Postgame Presser With a Scathing Connecticut Pizza Review

UConn legend Geno Auriemma opened his postgame presser Thursday night by shitting all over the pizza they served the team after the game. 

"Pizza Capital Of the World My Ass."

What a line! To be fair, he wasn't ripping ALL Connecticut Pizza - just whatever they served his team on Thursday night after they moved their record to 18-0 with a 99-50 win over Villanova. 

And if you have ever been to a college postgame or one of your kids' pizza parties, I think we all know what type of pizza Geno is talking about. It looks like pizza, and they call it pizza, but it's really just warm bread with cheese and sauce. 

But for UConn, man, this is embarrassing. The man has won 12 NCAA Championships. His team is a wagon and will probablty will lucky #13 this season. Get the man some real pizza. 

Sally's…Modern…Pepe's. I mean, take your pick. Have the intern drive two hours if necessary. Wooster Street is not that far from Storrs. Neither is Willington Pizza. 

Geno clearly wanted to talk about this and might have done a solid 10 minutes if they let him. But you can hear the media relations person try to change the topic by asking, "Does anyone have any basketball questions?" Come on, let Geno cook!

Hate to be the pizza place Geno is talking about. Maybe time for some self-reflection on their product. 

As a UConn alum, I'm appalled and disgusted. I expect this to be remedied in time for the next game. If not, heads will roll. 

BUT, silver lining, we HAVE to get Geno on a pizza review with Dave. It's a lock, right?
