These AI Celeb Deepfake Videos Have Gotten Too Real And It Feels Like The End Is Near

Until this moment in time my only real troublesome interaction with AI has been filtering through a Dante smut blog, figuring out how many accounts duped him with a fake, scantily clad woman. I've got a pretty good eye for it, but I also work on the internet for a living. I can't help but feel bad for an older person out there in the wild trying to dodge these scams and fake things. They actually have no chance.

Well, now I think we're all in trouble. These new videos below where you can make a celebrity do whatever you want are a giant problem.

If you can make celebrities do whatever you want in an AI video we're all fucked. What's to believe anymore?

Catfishing? It'll be everywhere, duping people and destroying lives all over the place. Unless you're face to face with someone, how could you ever with certainty believe it's a real interaction? At some point a world leader will be depicted on video saying something horrible and trigger a disaster event because someone else believed them. And in reality it'll just be a Meek Phil variant in their parent's basement fucking around for some laughs.

Obviously the cliche fear is AI taking over the world, but boy does that feel like the path we're headed down. Look at this shit.

Seriously, is there any scenario where AI ends well for us? I genuinely can't see it. Does anyone care enough to stop it? No, because there are a lot of good things AI provides and we're lazy assholes who would rather use it and deal with the consequences whenever they arrive. Not great! In the meantime it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for someone to pretend to be Brian Cashman or Hal Steinbrenner and have them step down from the Yankees. Let's get some resources targeted that way and save my baseball team.
