My Fellow Paisan Mike Tirico Addressed The Criticism Of His NBA on NBC Interview With Michael Jordan, And Told It How It Is

A-fuckin-men brother!

And before you call out the headline, yes, as KFC informed us years ago, Mike Tirico is Italian.

So Tirico went on Jimmy Traina’s show this week to talk about all the backlash and public crying about that Michael Jordan interview he did for NBA on NBC. And the way people are bitching and moaning, you’d think Jordan showed up, shook hands, said “great to see you,” and walked out of the room after 90 seconds.

But that’s not what happened.

It was one long interview they chopped up into segments and spread out over multiple games. Which is also, like, yeah. No shit. That’s how TV works.

But people are acting offended that we didn’t get some 60 Minutes deep dive where MJ breaks down his childhood trauma and cries on camera.

First of all, I don’t know what the fuck people expected. Second of all, why does anyone think Michael Jordan owes us anything? We’re talking about the most closed-off, secretive megastar of all time.

The most we ever got from him, the biggest peek behind the curtain, was The Last Dance, which, by the way, basically saved all of us at the beginning of COVID. That was the most he’s ever opened up, ever, on camera.

So for Jordan to come back this year, having basically done nothing public besides that, and start talking about today’s game vs his day, players being soft, whatever he feels like saying, that is fucking gold to me.

That’s Jordan.

That’s the greatest ever.

That’s the whole point.

Personally, I could listen to Michael Jordan talk about the grass growing or paint drying and I’d be thrilled.

And shoutout to my cousin Tirico, my paisan, for saying the same thing.

We should be treating this like Jordan dipping his toe in the water.

Let him get comfortable.

Stop being crybabies because he didn’t spoon-feed you ten hours of content.

Because if we don’t act like lunatics, maybe he actually enjoys it, comes back next season, and is even more involved.

We’re lucky he’s still around. Act like it.
