A North Carolina High School Is Taking a Year Off From Football After Being Outscored 523-0 This Season

High School OT — The administration at High Point Central High School has decided to suspend its varsity football program, according to a report from FOX8 WGHP.

High Point Central finished the 2025 season with an 0-10 overall record. The Bison were shut out in every single game, which added up to a total scoring disadvantage of 523-0.

There are good seasons. There are bad seasons. There's going winless.

And then there's going winless while also managing to not score a point in an entire season.

Such was the 2025 campaign for High Point Central High School in North Carolina, who will not be fielding a varsity football team in 2026 after being outscored 523-0 this past fall. The closest game of the season for the Bison came in a 37-0 loss to Southwest Guilford, who actually went 1-9 themselves with that game being their only win.

Imagine the things being said on the field to the poor kids on this team:

You obviously know it's going to be a rough year after 59-0 and 50-0 drubbings to open the season, but I don't see how you go on after a 69-0 game in Week 6. At that point, it's cruel to keep running those kids out there for another four games.

And I don't want to victim blame, but I'm genuinely curious as to how a team doesn't score a point in 10 high school football games. It's not like every team they played was a powerhouse. At some point, some high school kid on another team should have thrown a horrible pick six or fumbled in his own end zone or something. Anything.

I hope this team comes back in 2027 and just goes on an absolute ass kicking tour of the Greater Greensboro Area. Hell, tamper and bend some residency rules to get some ballplayers in there. What's the worst that can happen, you don't score a point all season and the program gets shut down?

Best of luck to the Bison going forward. I hope they get this thing back on track.
