Next Up: 16-Year-Old Duke Commit Cole Kuhn Is Already Throwing 102 MPH

We only have eight football games left this year, which means it's time to start gearing up for spring training. And if you think it's a little early to be focusing on the 2026 baseball season, allow me to introduce you to a prospect in the 2027 MLB Draft.

This is Cole Kuhn, a 16-year-old pitcher from Pennsylvania who won't turn 18 until after next year's Draft. He's currently committed to Duke, but if this kid spends three years playing college baseball, he is wasting his time — unless it's at the University of Tennessee, in which case it's a great decision which will help his future tremendously.

Cole needs to be pitching in professional baseball as soon as possible. I don't know how much more than 101.7 MPH is available in his right arm, but will he potentially be touching 105 in a few years? What was Paul Skenes hitting on the radar gun at 16 years old?

Whatever Cole decides to do next year, it just feels good to have some baseball content on the timeline again. Enjoy the last bit of football we have left and then it's time for these free agents to pick a damn team — something MLB really needs to fix — and get ready for Spring Training and the World Baseball Classic. Let's go.
