Patrick Mahomes Cosplayer Dylan Raiola Signs With Oregon Days After Mahomes Wore a Ducks Jersey

Dylan Raiola announced his commitment to Oregon this morning, and honestly, this was predictable about 10 days ago. While rehabbing his ACL, Patrick Mahomes was spotted wearing an Oregon Ducks jersey after losing a bet to Chiefs rookie LB Jeffrey Bassa (an Oregon alum).

The Mahomes influence strikes again for Raiola. We all know Raiola basically modeled his game, look, and pregame rituals after Patrick Mahomes, but this one was really just the result of a stupid bet. That said, in all seriousness, this is a good move for Raiola regardless of whether Dante Moore stays another year or not. Dan Lanning has proven he can develop NFL quarterbacks in Bo Nix, Dillon Gabriel, and now Dante Moore.

Raiola, who will be a true junior next year, still has plenty of time to develop into the player people thought he could be back when he was bouncing around at three (yes, three) different high schools before graduating. If I had to guess, I think Dante Moore enters the NFL Draft — I don’t know when his stock will ever be higher after climbing from struggling at UCLA to thriving at Oregon and leading the Ducks to a 13–2 record. If I were Raiola, I wouldn’t mind learning under Moore for a year, but I just don’t see him accepting a bench role for his crucial Junior year season.

I will say this, if Raiola ends up at Texas Tech in 2027 I don't know if I would be able to watch a single down of Texas Tech football that year.
