The UFC Has Finally Made It To The Golden Globes - Wait What?

Look at us, MMA fans! From Meryl Streep saying mixed martial arts "aren't real arts" on stage at the Golden Globes nine years ago, to a special segment dedicated SPECIFICALLY to the UFC! And it was awesome! We had UFC Women's Strawweight Champion Mackenzie Dern and Brian Ortega walk out on stage and, uh - that's it actually! They arrived, said nothing, and left. And at no point did it look like they knew why they were there. AURA.

I can't imagine what the people in that room were thinking. You could cut the awkward tension with a knife.

Obviously this was part of promotion for the UFC joining the Paramount/CBS family, and it was nice of them to include some fighters in one of their biggest broadcasts of the year, but c'mon now. They HAD to have something better for Dern/Ortega to do than "Walk out on stage and do absolutely nothing." right?! Even just their red carpet appearance woulda been enough without leaving them hanging like that!

Pretty hilarious though. CBS told all of Hollywood they're gonna sit there and watch the UFC promotion and LIKE IT tonight. Nuts on the table.
