"I'm Thinking About Cracking Open a Beer" – Somebody Get Curt Cignetti a God Damn Beer
One thing that I find funny about college football is the amount of trophy ceremonies a team has to go through on the road to a National Championship. It's pretty cool. It looks very fun. For their last three games (B1G Championship, Rose Bowl, and Peach Bowl), the Indiana Hoosiers have gotten to celebrate like they just won the god damn Super Bowl.
If things fall right for a team, they could finish their season with 5 straight trophy ceremonies (conference championship + 4 playoff games). Probably 6 I their last regular season game has a rivalry trophy. I did the math on this once, and a team like Notre Dame who has regular season trophy games with SO MANY different teams, could potentially win something like 13 trophies in a single season. I've always thought that was hilarious.
Anyways, back to that Curt Cignetti quote – "I'm thinking about cracking open a cold beer"
Careful coach. Don't start getting complacent on us now. I'm afraid your quarterbacks relentless positivity is starting to rub off on you.
I know you've already completed the greatest turn around college football has ever seen. I know you could quite literally never win a football game for the rest of your life and still go down in history as one of the greatest coaches to ever do it. But you're getting a little too big for your britches there. This is no time for an ice cold beer. You've got 10 days until the most important game of your life. Get your ass into that locker room and lay into your team like they just lost by 50.

Just kidding. It's good to see Cignetti having fun. It's good to see him smile, even after a measly 56-22 win over the probable second best team in college football in the Oregon Ducks. Enjoy that beer. Whatever it is you enjoy. I bet it's something blue collar and Pennsylvanian. Either Yuengling or Rolling Rock.
